It’s been around for a long time, so much so that even EEVblog’s Dave did a video on them. It also retailed at a fairly reasonable price. Part of the reason for this was their rugged build, simple and reliable operation, and high sensitivity GPS chipset. While they’re not really targeted at the average consumer, consisting only of a monochrome LCD and a very limited base map, they found favour with hikers, bushwalkers and geocachers amongst others.

EXTERNAL GARMIN COMMUNICATOR PLUGIN SITE HOW TO
I've managed to get it to talk to the GPS and found out how to put my European City Navigator Map via a MicroSD card into the thing.

£12 (although it has been fantastic), I'm ready to explore the higher end of a cycling computer's features. My existing computer was from Aldi and was approx. Now that it is boxing day and also a day off work, I've opened the box and started to read the poor attempt at 'manuals'. Santa and his elves were very kind this year and delivered me a shiny new Edge 800 under the tree.
